Cel Chow, M.Eng., P.Eng., C.P. joined Gage-Babcock & Associates Ltd. in June 1980 after completing his Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia.
Cel was born and raised in Hong Kong. He moved to Canada after he completed his Diploma in Marine Engineering and apprenticeship as a Marine Engineer. During that period he gained much experience in the operation and maintenance of major marine machines.
Since joining GBA, Cel has been involved in numerous fire suppression and fire alarm system design projects and has become a well-known fire protection systems design engineer in British Columbia. In 1999, Cel completed his Master of Engineering in Fire Protection Engineering at the University of British Columbia. He is very active in organizing short courses and seminars for the University of British Columbia. The courses/seminars include Construction Field Reviews, Fire Protection Systems Commissioning and Water Based Fire Suppression Systems. Cel also lectured in the Certified Professional Course (a high level building code course).
