Randall Kovacs, P.Eng., CP, was appointed President of Gage-Babcock & Associates Ltd. in February, 2000. Randall joined the firm in November 1992 as a Senior Engineer.
Randall earned his B.A.Sc in chemical engineering at the University of Waterloo. After 2 years as an engineer in training in the oil and gas industry, he worked for a major code consulting firm in Ontario for 7 years, prior to moving to the West Coast. He brings a very high level of quality code consulting experience to the firm including fire alarm and sprinkler system design experience.
In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Randall continues to provide technical service to clients of GBA, particularly the Vancouver International Airport Authority where he is responsible for independent design and construction site review services. He is the past Chair of the Certified Professional steering committee, and Randall also contributes part of his time to containing Professional development and association activities including:
- Member APEGBC Practice Review Committee
- APEGBC representation on UEL Advisory Design Panel
- Past Chair of APEGBC Consulting Practice Committee
- Past Chair Certified Professional (CP) Committee
- Past Technical Coordinator for CP course (5 years)
- Chair, 2007 Men's Provincial Curling Championship
- Past President Langley Curling Club
For the past 5 years, Randall has served as one of the 2 technical coordinators for the Certified Professional Educational course.
Randall is a licensed professional engineer in the Provinces of British Columbia, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. He is a full member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. He earned his designation as a Certified Professional in 1993.
Randall is also a member of the following Professional Organizations:

- Building Officials Association of British Columbia
- Canadian Hospital Engineering Society
- Ontario Society of Professional Engineers.
