Supporting the Building Permit Regulatory Process
Gage-Babcock & Associates Ltd.’s (GBA’s) knowledge of municipal Building By-laws, the B.C. Building Code, and related standards enables us to provide our clients with a high level of pro-active support relative to developing a Code complying design.
Typically, the Certified Professional service includes a progressive review of working drawings to establish Code compliance. Any discrepancies are brought to the attention of the Design Team with recommended solutions for remedial actions.
GBA also assists in the assembly of necessary documentation to support a Building Permit Application, including the preparation of code compliance drawings.
During construction, GBA provides Building Code Coordination. This includes necessary site visits and review of field review reports, and review of any 'acceptable practice' questions with the area's building inspector on a continuous basis.
As a significant service offering of the GBA organization, GBA maintains qualified Certified Professional staff levels to provide capability and continuity for multiple projects.
GBA has established and maintains a positive reputation with the various municipalities that participate in the Certified Professional Program.
The GBA Certified Professional service confirms that code issues do not inhibit the regulatory process, so that approvals proceed as quickly and efficiently as possible in support of project budgets and construction schedules.
